Things to do in Donsol: Our town is popular for whaleshark encounters and thousands-firefly watching.

Snorkelling, diving and island-hopping are also proven to be popular among visitors.
We will be glad to advise and assist you with regards to this upon your arrival.

Visitors, who would like to experience the whalesharks “butanding” encounter, shall register with the Whaleshark Interaction Office located in the Donsol Tourism Office at 06:30 AM.

The whaleshark watching boats and the gears required are available nearby the office.
There is a registration fee of PHP 300.00 per person. The expedition boat fee is PHP 3,500.00 for 6 persons.

The boat is provided with a full crew including the boatman, a spotter and a butanding interaction officer. The snorkeling gear, face mask and fins you'll need for the encounter can be rented for PHP 300.00 a set.

This is similar with the thousands-firefly firefly watching plus the river cruise enroute to the area. Fireflies are called “aninipot” or “tontonbalagon” in local Donsolanon dialect. The boarding area is near the Dancalan Bridge which is nearby our place. The cost for the river cruise to destination firefly watching is PHP 1250.00 for 5 persons.
The best time to start is about 06:30 PM. We suggest that you experience the thousand-firefly watching at night before the day you're scheduled to have the whaleshark interaction.
We can arrange for the river cruise to the firefly watching area.
